How Many Crypto Wallets Can You Have?

If you already use one crypto wallet, you may eventually wonder: can you create a second or third wallet, or use several wallets at the same time?
Yes. You can use multiple crypto wallets and give each one a different purpose.
In IronWallet, we do not limit the number of wallets you can create. You can create new wallets or import existing ones directly in the app.
Why Use Multiple Crypto Wallets?
One wallet may be enough if it covers everything you need.
If you use crypto for different purposes, keeping those activities in separate wallets can make your setup easier to manage.
For example:
one wallet for funds you rarely use;
another for everyday transfers and receiving crypto;
a third for Web3 interactions and dApps;
separate wallets for different projects or budgets.
That way, each wallet has a clear role and your activity stays easier to organize.
Simply having more wallets does not automatically make your crypto safer. Each wallet still needs a proper backup, and its seed phrase should never be shared with anyone else.
How Many Wallets Can You Create in IronWallet?
In IronWallet, there is no limit on the number of wallets you can create.
To add a new wallet:
Settings → Wallets → Add new wallet → Create new wallet
You can also import an existing crypto wallet from the same section.
You can create as many wallets as you need.
When Is One Wallet Enough?
There is no reason to create extra wallets just for the sake of having more of them.
If you rarely make transactions and one wallet covers all your needs, that may be enough.
Multiple wallets become useful when there is a clear reason to separate funds or activity — for example, keeping Web3 interactions separate, managing different projects, or separating everyday transactions from other assets.
What Should You Keep in Mind When Using Multiple Wallets?
The more wallets you use, the more important it is to stay organized.
Each wallet should have a clear purpose and a reliable backup.
When you create a new wallet in IronWallet, we recommend backing up its seed phrase and storing it somewhere secure and inaccessible to third parties.
If one wallet is enough for your needs, there is no reason to create more.
If you want to separate everyday transfers, Web3 activity, projects, or budgets, multiple wallets can make that easier.
In IronWallet, you can create as many wallets as you need.
