How to Check a Crypto Transaction?
If you need to check a cryptocurrency transaction, find out its status, or view the details of a transfer, you can do this directly on the blockchain.
You may need to check a transaction if:
you need to make sure the cryptocurrency was sent;
the recipient has not received the funds yet;
you need to check the transfer status;
you need to verify the amount, recipient address, or network fee;
you need to view the details of an already completed transaction.
For this, you will need the TXID — the identifier of a specific transaction.
What Is a TXID and Why Do You Need It?
A TXID (Transaction ID) is a unique identifier for a specific cryptocurrency transaction. It is also called a transaction hash or simply a hash.
A TXID belongs to the transaction itself, not to the wallet address. Each transfer has its own identifier, which can be used to find it on the blockchain.
Using a TXID, you can check the main details of a transaction: its status, sender and recipient addresses, amount, network fee, time, and the block in which the transaction was recorded. Some networks also display the number of confirmations.
Where to Find a TXID in IronWallet?
In IronWallet, you can open your transaction history directly from the main screen.
Open IronWallet.
Tap “Transaction History” in the top-left corner of the main screen.
Find the required transfer in the history.
Open the transaction details.
Find the TXID and copy it.
If there are several transfers in your history, make sure you select the correct transaction.
If you need help with a transaction, you can contact support directly from the IronWallet app.
How to Check a Transaction by TXID?
To check a transaction, you will need a blockchain explorer — a separate service that allows you to view transaction data on a specific network. Blockchain explorers are not part of IronWallet.
Find a blockchain explorer for the network through which the transfer was made. For example, you can search for “blockchain explorer + network name.”
Open a suitable explorer and paste the TXID into the search bar. You will then see information about the transaction and its current status.
It is important to use an explorer for the exact network in which the transaction was made. The same asset may be supported on multiple networks, but transactions on each network are tracked separately.
Only check a TXID using an official or trusted blockchain explorer. A TXID is not a password or wallet key, so it can be shared with the recipient or support team. However, never enter a TXID on a website together with your seed phrase, private key, or other wallet access information. This information is not required to check a transaction.
What Are the Different Statuses of a Crypto Transaction?
Blockchain explorers may use different labels, but the main statuses generally mean the following:
Pending — the transaction is still waiting to be processed or receive the required confirmation.
Confirmed / Successful — the transaction has been successfully processed and confirmed.
Failed — the transaction was not successfully completed.
If a transfer remains pending for a long time, its details in the blockchain explorer can help you understand its current status. With a Failed status, some networks and explorers may also display additional information.
What to Do If a Transaction Is Confirmed but the Funds Have Not Arrived?
First, check the recipient’s address and the network on which the transfer was made. This is especially important for assets that are available on multiple networks: the recipient’s wallet or service must support the exact network used for the transfer.
If the address and network are correct, provide the TXID to the recipient or support team. It can be used to find the specific transaction and check its details on the network.
