FAQ
IronWallet is a cold crypto wallet app, a non-custodial wallet, that enables users to store, send, receive and exchange cryptocurrency. IronWallet is also sometime called software crypto wallet, meaning your crypto seed phrase is stored locally and never sent to us or third party.
A Non-custodial Crypto Wallet is physical or software wallet. It is a type of crypto wallet that provides one of the most secure ways to store cryptocurrency. It works by storing your private key (seed phrase) on an external, physical device (USB, Bluetooth or NFC device), or in the local secure part of the memory of your device. Using a non-custodial crypto wallet is considered quite safe because you manage your seed phrase or keys and confirm transactions yourself, eliminating dependence on third parties, like exchange platforms or custody wallets. Such crypto wallets are not subject to blocking, do not require the provision of personal data or KYC, and are connected directly to the blockchain. Additionally, storing keys offline and having a recovery mechanism via a seed phrase ensures long-term asset protection.
A seed phrase is a 12-word key to your cryptocurrency wallet. It provides access to your funds and allows restoration if your device is lost or broken. If it leaks, attackers can control your wallet. Therefore, keep it secret, avoid entering it on untrusted sites, and always verify addresses. You can import your seed phrase to IronWallet from other crypto wallets like Metamask, Trust wallet, Phantom Wallet etc.
To create a wallet, open the IronWallet app, go to “Settings”, then open “Wallets”. Click “Add new wallet” → “Create new wallet”. Done! Enjoy. You can create as many crypto wallets as you like, just remember to backup your seed phrase.
